Executive Decree 41 of 20 November 2001 established the National Committee of Codex Alimentarius as a consultative body of the Republic of Panama in the studies and actions it must take effect for participation in meetings convened by the Codex Alimentarius Commission, its Executive Committee and its subsidiary bodies. Panamanian Authority for Food Safety was created by Decree Law No. 11 of February 22, 2006, as the governing entity of the State in standardization and implementation of laws and regulations ls safety input food, sanitary and phytosanitary measures for their introduction into the country, using criteria strictly scientific and technical. For the above are proposed for inclusion in the Panamanian Authority for Food Safety in the National Committee of Codex Alimentarius.
